The Fine Details

I offer private, in-home & virtual (telehealth) lactation consultations in South & West area of Austin, Texas. My service areas include

  • Southwest Austin

  • Wimberley

  • Woodcreek

If you happen to be outside the service area, please reach out. We can discuss possible options; a $50 travel fee per visit may apply per in-home visit.

All visits must be paid in full at the time of service. A Superbill receipt of payment is provided to submit to you health insurance as desired for possible reimbursement.

Care for multiples (twins, triplets) incur an additional cost of $50 per additional infant per visit with an additional 30 minutes added per infant per visit. This will be reflected in the Superbill receipt.

Urgent requests for consults may incur an additional $25 fee if seen outside normal business hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).

Please note:

Travel fees are not eligible for insurance reimbursement.

Not all health insurance plans cover telehealth visits.

Supportive care generally occurs best over a minimum of 3 visits to fully address any lactation concerns. If you feel fewer appointments are needed, contact us to discuss possible options.

Types of family-focused Lactation Visits (60-90 minutes):

Prenatal

  • Discuss feeding goals

  • Personalized breastfeeding education

  • Normal newborn feeding behaviors

  • Expected breast changes after birth

  • Hand expression technique

  • Skin-to-skin benefits

Postpartum

  • Discuss feeding goals

  • Assessment of both the mother and baby

  • Breast assessment of mother

  • Latch/positioning

  • Feeding observation

  • Hand expression technique

  • Pumping and flange fit, if applicable

  • Oral assessment of baby

  • Pre/Post frenectomy care, if applicable

  • Milk supply management

  • Personalized Care Plan

Follow up

  • Same as Postpartum, plus

  • Reassessment of breastfeeding from prior visit

  • Address any new concerns

  • Individualized Return to Work Plan, if applicable

  • Revision of current Care Plan as needed
